I've decided to share eighteen goals of mine for 2018. Most of them are a continuation of goals I've set for myself in the past and others are brand new. My goals for 2018 are only achievable if I break them down into small bite size goals each day. Whenever you stop to read over your goals for the year or look at your vision board, remember that goals are only achieved through action. So take action every day to get yourself closer to your goals. You can start by writing them down and getting clear on what you really want. So let's begin...
1. Travel more
I travel within the states all the time, at least once a month. But I want to start traveling outside of the U.S. at least once a month. That's a big stretch right now, so I'm going to say once every six months. I think that's a good place to start. Actually, I could start by finding my passport.
2. Spend more time with the people I love
The most important things in life cannot be bought, only borrowed. Time will rob you of life's most precious moments if you don't stop what you're doing to spend time with the ones you love. Pick up the phone and make those phone calls, forgive, and move forward together. Don't spend your last days wished you'd done more with the days you were given.
3. Decrease phone time
I spend way too much time on my phone. I start off intending to only check my emails, but then a Facebook notification pops up, a text message come through, and before you know it I've spent 45 minutes scrolling through Instagram or watching proposal videos on YouTube. Long story short, I'm monitoring my phone time with an app called Moment. It let's me know how much time I spend on my phone. It also sends me tiny reminders to put my phone down and get back to my life.
4. Network more
I'd like to network more. You know, getting dressed, going out, meeting other business professionals and passing out business cards. The internet has made it very convenient to network and meet new people, but it has also made people complacent. No one feels it's necessary to get to know a person before asking for favors. People think they can slide in your DM's whenever they want and ask anything their litter heart desires. I enjoy meeting new people on social media, however it's completely watered down most people professionalism. And for that reason alone, I'd like to get back to good ole' face to face conversations over coffee to discuss a mutual beneficial business relationship. Starbucks anyone?
5. Let go out things that aren't serving me
As I grow older and wiser, I've become more protective of my space and the people I let in it. I work really hard to keep my vibrations high. I refuse to surround my self with people or things that interrupt my frequencies. Positive vibes only. I was never one to hold on to people for too long, but this year I'm letting go of habits and things that aren't helping me grow into to women I strive to be.
6. Meal prep extravaganza
I have successfully meal prepped my food since 2016, however my consistency has left room for way too many cheat days and a few too many late night taco trucks. This year my goal is to add some variety to my meals, so that I don't get burned out on eating the same thing half way through the year. I've been drowning in Pinterest trying to find meatless meal prep ideas. If you have any good ones leave them in the comments.
7. Work out in the morning instead of the evening
The gym and I have been friends for a long time. We've had our moments where we were really close, always hanging out and spending time together; and we've also had our moments of not speaking for months at a time. As of right now, the gym and I have a pretty regular hangout schedule 3-4 times a week at 5:45 p.m., but I'd rather start working out in the morning between 7-9 a.m. Working out in the morning ensures that I don't spend too long in bed scrolling through Instagram and allows me to start off my day with a boost of energy and focus.
8. Drink more water
This is always going to be a goal of mine, basically for the rest of my life. So, yeah.
9. Develop a consistent skin care routine
My skin is okay. It's not bad, but it isn't great either. I want radiant clear glowing skin that doesn't require make-up. I also want my raccoon eyes to go crawl under a rock and die. I'm currently using the Murad facial cleanser with spot treatment serum in combination with Lancome anti-aging moisturizer. However, I think I need to add a good back head removal mask or monthly dermatology treatment. What are your suggestions?
10. Do the things I've been putting off
In this new year, I will complete all the things I said I wanted to do in 2015 .... 2016 ... 2017- you get the point. I have made it a priority to finish all of the projects I started and never launched (including this blog, lol). Start doing the things I've always wanted to do, but never mustered up the courage to get done. I'm doing all the things that scare me, but I know that's where my greatness lies. I refused to let excuses and fear waste anymore of my time.
11. Create automated systems
If you've been paying any attention to my life over the past year or so, you'll know that I own and co-own multiple businesses. I have a couple businesses, that are very hands off for me (just the way I like it), but some of my newer endeavors still require a lot of my time. I enjoy starting businesses, but I'm not a fan of having to do all of the daily tasks involved in keeping each business alive and thriving. And lets be serious, no one person can do all of that alone. So, I'm working on building systems in each of my businesses that allow me to be hands off on the day-to-day tasks and operate from a supervisory level. I created these businesses for passive income, not active. The less I have to work in a business, the more I can work on growing a business.
12. Build out digital products
I've dreamed of digital products ever since I took my first online course in 2016. I knew this was something I could do and something I had to do! That's also around the same time Boss School came to me. What I love about digital products is that once you put your blood, sweat, and tears into creating them (Yes, it's a lot of work. No, I'm not exaggerating), you can sell them over and over again. There's literally no limit on the number of people you can help with the knowledge shared in digital products.
I'd like to collaborate more with people whom I share the same aspirations. I'm a believer in community and working together to achieve a common goal. I've never been the type of person that see's other people as my competition. Frankly, I get excited when I meet other people who think like I do, aren't afraid of innovation, and can carry on an intelligent conversation... (okay, I'm rambling.) Collaboration was a huge trend in 2017 for big businesses, and I'm planning on implementing it into my small businesses. So stay tuned!
14. Shamelessly promote myself
I mean, because why not? We only have one shot at life. Previously, I was operating off of the idea that if I build it, they will come. To some extent that is true, however there's this gigantic sea of people who don't know who I am and have no idea what I've built. So, I've decided to shamelessly promote myself and everything I do. Not to boast or be arrogant, but to impact as many people with my gifts as I can.
15. Give more to causes I support
Giving back is really important to me. I've always liked helping people. I give my time a lot, but I also want to support with my dollar. Through my subscription box service, Love Yours, I am able to provide self-care products to girls and women in need. The work I do wouldn't be possible without my business partner and our overly supportive tribe that makes it all possible. I'm also planning to give more of my own money towards education and clean drinking water.
16. Buy a house
I've always wanted to buy a house and I figure this year is better than ever. Also, I'm running out of time before my student loans hit my credit report and ruin the 750 I've worked so hard to maintain. The plan is to buy a cute 3 bed, 2 bathroom home that I can fix up and sell. Repeat that process a several times until I'm ready to build my dream home.
17. Avoid paying back my student loans
I'm just trying to speak this into existence in 2018. I know it's a pretty lofty goal. I was counting on Bernie Sanders to create legislation to save me from this, but instead I'm stuck luck chuck... for now.
18. Build a budgeting system
I've always managed my money pretty well. I pay my bills on time and I'm not buried in credit card debt. That counts for something right? Maybe. In this new year, I plan to crate a concrete budgeting system. Typically, I'd say that my money was in my stomach or hanging in my closet, but I cut back on eating out and haven't had a real shopping spree since 2015. Honestly, I'm not quite sure where my extra money goes & that's why in 2018 I will have a budget to make sure I don't spend a penny over what I plan. Wish me luck!
If you made it to the end of this post, I'd like to say thank you for reading and I hope something in this post helped you.
P.S. - There were probably a lot of grammatical errors and a few misspelled words, so thank you for baring with me.
